His title was Drkana, now it's Sovereign. The historic roots of the word Drkana mean leader, which fits Bane and his role to a T.

Rulers aren’t always nice. Sometimes they make mortifying choices in the act of protecting what they value. Those outside cannot see the value or understand those choices for the most part, much like humankind.

I like Bane. I tried not to. He’s flawed and actually wretched, but he is a leader. He has a code. He’s doesn’t make excuses or scape goat others. He owns his shit.

I wish more humans could do that. it's probably why I’ll continue writing monsters. They are better than humans...sometimes.
