Learning Never Ends...

I had a great experience at the 2026 Florida Writing Workshop in Tampa last weekend. Those of you who read my site know I've been looking forward to this event as I move forward in my writing career. It DID NOT disappoint! I made some fantastic contacts and learned many helpful things. It was well organized and the experts on hand were supportive and constructive in their critiques, pitches and classes.
I know when I started this journey, having "my babies" critiqued was difficult. Some of the newer authors experienced this for the first time at the event. It can feel like someone stabbed you and your work is trash. That is the furthest thing from the truth! Easy for me to say now. I've had a few years of critique. It's made me able to beg for this from the experts who attend. You want them to be candid and dare I say brutal with what is wrong and why it is failing to grab the attention you sorely wish. When those experts give you suggestions on what needs to change, it is magic. Last weekend's event didn’t let me down.
