Plugging Along

It was a challenge, but I have found my writing style is not conducive to on-demand creativity. I write when the mood strikes me or if an idea comes to me. When creativity becomes a timed goal, it loses its sparkle. I may never get rich as an artist or author, but my stories fill me with great joy and are never formulmatic, thus cannot be cranked out like an assembly line. I know Tempest’s story is in there, but as one of my fellow NaNo participants said “Second acts are just hard”. It’s the larger struggle and loss to the ultimate conclusion when writing a multi-novel story. I don’t like her, I don’t like him, and the secondary characters are more fun. I guess I’ll let it gel for a while before I pick it up again. I hope this doesn’t mean it’s going to take me nine years too. I’d like to finish sooner that that. I still have another book!
